Step 1
- Put the mat you have chosen on the floor. As soon as your dog approaches, click and reward by dropping the treat
on the mat. Throw another treat further away so that your dog gets the opportunity to repeat the desired behavior.
Step 2
- Now your dog should go and stand on the mat before you click and reward by dropping the treat on the mat. To
give your dog the chance to start again, throw another treat further away.
Problem shooting:
- My dog does not approach the mat?
You can always begin with an easy criterion like your dog glancing at the mat. Reward by dropping the treat on the
bed to reinforce the dog for showing interest in it.
